Song of the Day # 8

Massive Attack- Teardrop

You would definitely recognize this song if you watched House (it's the intro music).

News- Sorry for not posting for a while. I don't have much of a excuse since I'm on winter break, and I have more time than I know what to do with. Anyways, Christmas came and went and I got pretty much everything I asked for: Wall-E, Candy, Clothes, and i-Tunes cards.

Song of the Day # 7

John Murphy: In the House - In a Heartbeat

Yet another soundtrack song, maybe I should rename these Movie-songs of the Day. This is from 28 Days Later, in the beginning, when he wakes up and is wandering the streets of a post apocalyptic-type world.

News- Last night, Noah and I went to a free orchestra concert in Chicago. We rode the bus to the train and on the train to downtown. We got there in time for the lecture before the concert, and when we went in, I felt so out of place. Most everyone there had head full of gray, and Noah said he saw a lady talk to another while pointing at us. It was really cold outside and the concert wasn't until 8:00 p.m., so we didn't get back until about 10:30. It was pretty fun to go out by ourselves, and I managed to do some homework on the train and bus.

Song of the Day # 6

Yann Teirsen- La Noyee

You can't go wrong with Yann Teirsen. He did the music for Amelie, probably the most famous French movie out here in the U.S. He's probably my favorite composer and his music is what pushed me to try to learn piano ( I also sort of want to learn accordion just to play one of his songs).

New on the Blog: Bejeweled! I just put it on because then I can play some thing while I'm listening to music. I'm trying to see if there's any other gadgets I can try out, but Bejeweled is so far the best I've found.

A New Look

If, somehow, you haven't noticed, I changed the look of my blog from super boring white to slightly boring blue! The ultimate neutral color! I also now have a playlist of the song-of-the-days located at the bottom of the page! not all of the songs can be on there, because not all of them are on Seeqpod, but it's still pretty sweet! You may also notice the so-small-that-it-barley-counts-as-a-playlist size of the "playlist", but I'm just preparing for later, considering that there's a new song almost everyday.

Song of the Day #5

Chata- Dango Daikazoku

A sweet, simple, feel-good song. Dango is a Japanese food and daikazoku means family. It was used as the ending song for Clannad, an awesome anime (if your into that type of thing). I just love this song, and I was lucky enough to find a download for it on the internet, since it's not on i-Tunes.

-So it has finally snowed this week, and today marked the first shoveling of the winter. I'm just saying that, because I know that Mom, Matt, and Jordan are suffering in a temperature of 64 right now while we enjoy a crisp 19 degrees (yes, that is a cold hint of sarcasm that your sensing).
-Also, I'm going to use Seeqpod for the song-of-the-days from now on, because I think the videos might take attention away from the actual music (unless they have a music video for it). Of course I'll have to use YouTube for original YouTube songs.

Song of the Day # 4

Thomas Newman - Any other name

An amazing song used in a variety of movies and shows. Most famous of those is American Beauty, and I've also heard it on House. As I post more of these song-of-the-days, I realize that they're mostly songs I don't have but really want to get, and in that sense I'm sort of using this blog as a playlist so I don't forget to buy these songs. Dang I'll have to wait for Christmas to get some i-Tunes gift cards.

-This song reminds me, I don't think I posted anything about it before, so I guess I should say that I'm trying to teach myself piano. I've been learning how to play some songs from videos on YouTube, since I can't read music. I would like to learn this song at some point, but it's still out of my league.

Song of the Day # 3

blinktwice4y AKA Sam Hart- Mario Kart Love Song

This is an awesome original song about love and Mario Cart that was featured on YouTube. A pretty different take on the racing game if I do say so myself.

-So I won't be posting on my blog, checking out Youtube, or checking my email until friday, because I'm doing a project in English that requires you to incorporate a theme from "Walden", in which I decided to cut down on my communication. I was originally just going to get rid of internet all together, but that idea got thrown out real fast. I'll post something on Friday, so don't fret your silly little head... um... yeah.

Thanksgiving Break

The past week has been Thanksgiving break, and I went to Grandma Bagwill's. It was fun visiting relatives but they only have dial-up internet. I brought my laptop and x-box to help with the lack of internet, but I forgot all of my games, except the ones already in my laptop and x-box. So I had a week of no internet with basically only warcraft 3 and TV to tide me over from insanity (keep in mind that I barely ever watch much TV or play video-games because I'm always on the internet). This week has made me deeply appreciate the blessed channels of Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Discovery Channel. I salute thee Spongebob, Mythbusters, and orc horde from warcraft for helping me in my time of need. Anyways, that's the reason why I haven't posted for a week.

(A metaphorical picture of what TV and Warcraft 3 was to me)

Song of the Day # 2

Daft Punk - HARDER BETTER FASTER STRONGER (Alive 2007)

A song I've had stuck in my head for a while. I think this version just blows the original away (though the original is good too). It's also now my favorite Daft Punk song.
-I also decided to tell what happens to me everyday in the "song of the day posts" so here it goes-
Today I ran five miles after school for off season track practice (meaning that it isn't Track season yet, but you're supposed to run to keep in shape). I didn't drink much of anything today so I got some cramps within the first mile. I got a large amount of homework that I should probably be doing instead of posting on my blog. (I'm just using this as an excuse too put off the inevitable, cause boy do I like to procrastinate!)

Song of the Day # 1

Just recently I've started noticing how music oriented I am. There's barely ever a moment where I don't have my i-pod with me, and I go through earphones faster than anything I can think of. Anyways, I decided to do a song of the day of some of the more interesting songs I listen to, and hopefully songs that less people know about. (planning on doing it once a day, though can't next week).
This is Bibo no Aozora/04 by Ryuichi Sakamoto, made famous when used in the movie Babel. I like most of the song, but towards the end, it gets sort of weird.

Cake- Mexico cover

Hey, I haven't recorded any singing before this cover, but I think I did pretty well, since the song has simple lyrics and is a lot easier to sing that anything else. I like how it turned out. It's the first time I've heard myself sing (or even talk) without curling up into a little ball of despair.

(So there you go John, I started singing).

XC: Cross Country Trailer

Our first Advanced Radio and TV project. We were supposed to do a 2 minute trailer of anything we wanted. So what did Brandon and I pick to do? Cross Country of course! Not only is it the most amazing sport ever, but it's fun, exciting, and... um...

um...
never mind, I actually can't think of any good things about XC, It's just one of those things that you have to be crazy to enjoy.
Any who, it was lots of fun to make this trailer, and I hope you like it.

It's Over 9000! I mean, 10,000!

My Everyday guitar cover has broken the 10,000 mark for views on youtube! It has 119 ratings, and 87 comments (all of them good). I also have 11 subscribers now (though 2 are people I know). Link:

The Cathedral

This is a really amazing animation that I saw years ago, but then just found it again on YouTube. Watch and be amazed at the awesomeness!

Edit: The videos of this on You-Tube keep on getting getting removed or something. I found this video which is the same but everything is mirrored.

Carly Comando- Everyday (Guitar Cover) Tab

I made a tab since people were asking for it. It's my first tab so go easy on me! The chords used are in order above each line and things might not be totally in line, because the blog messes with what I typed. But if you're good enough to play this, then you shouldn't have a problem figuring it out.

And you’re done! There was more at the end, but that was just me making my own stuff up.
I’m currently working on a updated version of the song (along with a ton of other things). So look forward to that, though it may be in a while (I don’t know).

Carly Comando- Everyday (Guitar Cover)

My video just passed 1000 views on YouTube! A lot of people have been visiting it lately, ever since I made tabs. I've also gotten 20 positive comments and 9, 5-star ratings! So yay!

Photo 2

Today was my last day of finals, and I got back some big projects I did in Photo 2!

This is a project I did in the first semester. My teacher put it in a student art show for the Maine Township. It freakin' took me forever to print the pictures and cut out all of the letters from newspapers.

This is a collage of my room. I had to get my brother Noah to take pictures of me for part of it. It's so big! It's almost three feet wide!

"Happy Mothers Day!"...

... Said the crazy Mr. Toad statue, "Happy Mothers day indeed!" And, with a *poof* of smoke, and a graceful leap into the air, the crazy Mr. Toad statue was off; wishing a happy mothers day to all Mothers around the world, "Happy Mothers day to all, and to all a good night!"

A Happy Place

Woot! I've just recorded some of my guitar pieces on Garage band, and I wanted to see if I could upload one on my blog, and YouTube. This is a song I made up just- yesterday I think? I love it, had it stuck in my head the entire day. (P.S. don't mind the background noises, like the person sneezing and etc.)
